Boy was I pleasantly surprised as this game is currently only $7.99 CAN, thank you Playdigious. This not only is a very fun platformer, but the animation is very smooth with the default graphics settings on my iPad Mini 5g running iPadOS 17.1.1 (iPadOS 17.2 update will be this afternoon) But damn, it has an absolutely gorgeous visual environment with some spooky audio along with really good pick up and play default touch controls. I only played for few minutes, but I am really enjoying it so far. I went to launch the game again and this time, the main title screen popped up and then just a black screen with the little flashing icon in the bottom right hand corner. Not to worry folks... I turned off/on my device and the game launched and resumed just fine. Hmm... strange, I tried to launch the game once again, and same black screen with blinking icon, did another device turn off/on and it resumes fine and displays all loading screens and resume the game again. Just my 2 cents... possible Game of the Week? agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #4 agreen437, Dec 12, 2023 No my game of the week is SpongeBob the cosmic shake but that’s me Maslan266 Well-Known Member Oct 14, 2017 397 56 28 #5 Maslan266, Dec 12, 2023 Great game, plays really well on the iPad Pro 11’ with the M1. The only complaints i have are the fact that the black bars take away immersion and the controls could be a bit better. I just rebooted INSIDE to compare the controls and INSIDE was far smoother. Anyhow, if you like horror games/adventure platformers this is perfect and very well worth the price. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #6 agreen437, Dec 13, 2023 I agree but some of the puzzles are tricky for example you have to hold down a button then release in order to sprint to the platform I do like it agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #7 agreen437, Dec 16, 2023 Guys guess what this is the game of the week way to go playdigious Anotherkellydown Moderator Staff Member Patreon Bronze Feb 10, 2014 4,319 997 113 Male CAD Technician I Upstate NY https://youtube.com/channel/UCcvu9xhE7xT-mZrXUZQJr5g #8 Anotherkellydown, Dec 16, 2023 TouchArcade Game of the Week: ’Little Nightmares’ by Jared Nelson Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 573 263 63 #9 Rocksaint, Dec 16, 2023 Am I the only one having troubles with the controls in immersive mode? Definitely not just you I’m having the same problem Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 573 263 63 #12 Rocksaint, Dec 22, 2023 I think it’s mainly because the game doesn’t make it clear where it is saving. Initially I thought at least lighting the lamps saves your progress. But I quickly realised that wasn’t the case. The best way of knowing is when you die. The place where you revive is definitely a save point. It sucks that we have to figure it out this way. And this adds to the frustration of the controls and the orientation of the game. Miss a jump or drop off a ledge because of the controls or the camera angle, and you need to cover a fair bit to get back to that point. That’s not cool. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #13 agreen437, Dec 22, 2023 I’ll let you know what the devs say about the save issue just emailed them again today but they might be busy with the holidays upon us Rocksaint likes this. agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #14 agreen437, Dec 24, 2023 I’ve gotten further in the iOS version than my ps4 thought I could barely do it with a DualShock 4 I really have proven myself wrong the game is very hard but when you get to the next chapter it feels like a real achievement game has 120 FPS support but I think 30 FPS is plenty what an awesome game this deserves game of the week agreen437 Well-Known Member Jun 12, 2014 1,455 172 63 #15 agreen437, Dec 28, 2023 So the devs got back to me and told me the game has checkpoints that are automatically saved I guess you have to keep dying to understand where it respawns Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 573 263 63 #16 Rocksaint, Dec 28, 2023 Hehehe. It uses like only 70% of the screen especially on iPad Pro 12.9”? mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 396 180 43 #18 mastery51, Dec 29, 2023 Last edited: Dec 30, 2023 at 4:05 PM Most likely because the original pc version of the game was coded and designed with a 16:9 ratio. There was no easy fix. If they tried to, zoom to fit, it will probably cut off the edges of the game. If they used, stretch to fit, it may cause the whole game to appear distorted. I suppose they could have resized the actual view of the camera but the problem with that is the entire game was completely designed with 16:9 ratio in mind. You might unfortunately see things that are not suppose to be seen off screen. Playdigious or Tarsier would have to rework, reposition, or recode possibly a lot of things off screen. This would require a lot of time and resources they might not have. That’s my guess. : ) (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
