I guess they're just being fair as that's what it's sold for on the other platforms it should be cross play compatible with. I have a feeling that this is a new trend in App Store pricing, to have all platforms for top tier games having the same price, or at least very close. Which seems crazy when compared to a digital iPad version of a game I’ve never heard of. Chq Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2013 351 25 28 #10 Chq, Dec 4, 2023 44.99€ in germany. Oh dear, it's so easy to disqualify yourself as a game manufacturer. No doubt it’ll go on sale on iPad when it goes on sale on other platforms too. Having never heard of it on other platforms, I’m only here bc I was intrigued by the price But good luck to them. Civ started out at north of £30 on iPad, assume they’re not reliant on iPad sales, great to see someone testing how it goes! edit: is it rude to add that I was a bit “£40; and ONLY 2.2gb?!” Nonstickron Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2009 305 29 28 Graphic Artist / Pre-Press Central Florida http://www.rgdesignhouse.com #12 Nonstickron, Dec 7, 2023 I mean, looks really cool, but no way in hell am I paying that. Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,094 205 63 #13 Quoad, Dec 7, 2023 Currently £16.75 on steam, lol, where it DOES have good reviews since its release in 2021. Heroquest. The reviews say. Announcement here implies it's Mac and iPad only, tbf may make compatibility sense, but gosh. That's a limited subset of platforms for 2.5x the Steam 'currently on sale but LOL not for you lot, losers' price. Courageous decisions all round! Edit: actually not untempted to get it on steam deck, fully verified, and less OTT at £17. IDK what the online community is like, only 1,700 reviews (ever) on steam, not terrible but I'm guessing a couple years on it may have withered. Edit2: actually the voices / chat on the steam video have completely killed it for me. The listing says single player, doesn't look like it from the intro videos, oh my god I could not cope with that kind of chat. In the bin with this, good luck to the devs! That said, the main reason I balk at paying higher prices for games on mobile is that the iOS ecosystem can turn nasty on a dime. An OS update can break a game and if the dev is no longer updating it, that’s that. Say goodbye to your $40 game. As others have said, I wish them luck, but I won’t be taking a chance on it.
