Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 573 263 63 #14 Rocksaint, Dec 2, 2023 Completed the tutorial. The game is of the highest quality. It looks and runs really well. (Depends on the device of course) It clearly shows that Feral has put a lot of effort in not only remastering this classic, but also to make it run and play well on mobile. It’s a slow-paced, quite a tactical game. You need to be careful of your every move. And difficulties from Normal and above have limited saves. So do make a note of that. (You would almost wish you played this at 30fps) Coming to the controls, yes, it is perfectly playable with touch controls. (On phones) Only one concern is the prompts. At times, they might not appear at the right moment, resulting in either you performing the wrong action or getting detected. Hope that is streamlined further. Other than that, it’s an immaculate achievement when it comes to controls. Do note that there are some crash issues and I’ve read some save file getting corrupt. So that can be a dealbreaker for some. Overall, it’s brilliant. Yes, there are some rough edges, but nothing that can’t be tackled with a few updates. Great job Feral. Another masterpiece. As I guess on mobile you want to be able to save whenever or at least frequently so you can resume whenever you want instead of only playing when you have a good chunk of time. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 573 263 63 #16 Rocksaint, Dec 2, 2023 On normal, you get a maximum of 7 saves per mission. That means you can only save 7 times during a mission. It’s kind of a difficulty design carried forward from the old Hitman games. Based on what you said, rookie difficulty will be best for you. I think you get unlimited saves in that. And some of the old mechanics and design don’t help either. The more I play the more frustrated I am getting now. And I have played Hitman games before. The AI is brutal. The prompts for silent melee kills barely ever appear next to an enemy before they detect you. And finally, there is absolutely no direction given as to what to do next apart for some point of interests on the map. Sadly, I am fighting more the game mechanics than the game itself. Technically, no doubt it’s a marvel. But design-wise, it’s a bit old school and unnecessarily challenging. squarezero likes this. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,407 976 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #19 squarezero, Dec 3, 2023 I’m with you. The original Deus Ex (from 2000) is one of my favorite game of all time, so I’m all in with “immersive sims.” But I would appreciate a little more hand holding. A recommended load out, for example. And even on the first mission, the consequences of making a mistake are pretty dire. This game may take more patience than I have, but it’s so well done mechanically that I’m willing to give it a chance. Rocksaint likes this. I know it’s an old game, but these are improvements I’d expect from a remaster/remake. The game is so well made that it almost pains me to criticise it, but if a game is not fun to play, then what’s the point. squarezero likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
